Little prayer....

Nothing is cuter than when a child learns to pray..... I got home tonight and was putting Jacob in bed and said "Lets say our prayers" he smiles so big and prays his hands and says "now" (as in now i lay me....)
So stinking sweet. I say prayers with him really fast because he does not keep the praying hands for too long. He thinks speed praying is funny! What a funny boy!

Nathan is so funny at prayer time. He has said his prayers on his own for months... but he likes to switch two words to get a rise out of mom and dad.  The prayer goes :
"Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep,
 If i should die before I wake,
 I pray the lord my soul to take. (Nathan says keep and giggles instead of take)

 we then do:
 I see the moon and the moon sees me,
God bless the moon and God bless me. Ah-men, Amen!
Then nathan hilariously blesses people we have interacted w/ through the day and week.

Gardening aint for the faint of heart.

I realize now why people with gardens don't just share their crops w/ just anyone. I just finished preping my garden for planting and lets just say my back is KILLLLLING me. God made me a modern day girl because he knew i would be complaining if i was born in the 1800's! I am excited non the less to get things going. Have some seeds planted and sprouting and have some tiny plants i need to transplant. Going to have 8 rows and a variety of veggies! Soooo excited.

Brian borrowed Dr.Kramr's tractor to minimize the work in moving all the dirt and it was funny to see how doing work on the tractor brought such a smile on his face (for those of you who dont know.. I joke brian and I dated in his dads tractor  its where we spent most of our time together in college) The boys had so much fun riding on it and watching daddy move the dirt. Brian moved some for our neighbor and I caught him in action...

On the potty training front.... WE ARE THERE.. Nathan is in big boy underwear ALL day. He hasnt had but two big accidents in almost three weeks. I am so relieved he GOT it finally.


We got a new pet in the last week. Our neighbor called us over and gave Nathan and Jacob a baby slider turtle. We named him timmy and will keep his as long as we can take good care of him. He is the size of a silver dollar. He was a bit shy at first, but now moves all over the place. The kids like it when I clean his cage and let him run through the grass. He is getting fast.

Jacob is talking. He is saying "All done", "I need it", "book", "uh-oh", "monkey", "hungry",  "mickey" and even "more". His other favorite word is "TT" yes ladies and gentlemen he knows where it is and what it does and lets me know every time I change him. LOL...

I was looking at them playing today while i was working in the garden and even I couldnt tell who was who from where I was. Jacob is catching up with Nathan fast. However Jacob thinks he can do what brother does so I have caught them both leaping from the couch or picnic table to the ottoman. Scared me to death that they have no fear.

Nathan learned to drive!! I got a John Deere Gator (at steal of course for those who know me well) its perfect because its a two seater and Jacob (usually) holds on and enjoys the ride. Nathan has learned to stop and reverse and drive around stuff! He is so good at driving now! This is the video from the first day he had it over 2 weeks ago.

This sand and water table has kept the boys so entertained so far this summer. They don't quite get the concept that water goes on one side and sand on the other so we usually have a mud pit on both sides which drives me NUTS. Everytime we finish playing in it, it requires both boys being stripped down naked and bathed in the little blue pool due to being completely filthy. We got some naked time shenanigans on film. I will have you know jacob is getting really tan.. but i dont think there is any hope for nathan. Poor kid.

 We had a relaxing day working in the yard. Nathan wanted to help dad haul dirt w/ his tractor. He was so proud to help. He even used his beach "shobel" (shovel) to help dad smooth the dirt out.

I find it funny how Nathan gets such a kick out of knocking Jacob down. They think this is such a fun game. Boys will be boys!

We went on a trip on friday to visit Gigi Boehm (my dads mom) The boys had a blast playing outside. Nathan kept kickin cow poop.. (luckily the dryed stuff no freshies), we ran around and looked at the cows and donkeys. Jacob pulled all the flowers off the stem in her yard. We went to the cow trough to go see the giant goldfish. It was a big surprise when we found him on the bottom upside down. Grandma insist he was fine... he was (key word) about 12 years old. She poked him with the water hose and then a cattle prod. He would barley move a fin every now and again. I think we were with him in his last moments. 

We were eating dinner that evening and brian asks nathan "what did you do at Gigi's today?" Nathans reply "I saw donkey, and cows, and buck-buck (the dog), and gigi's fish is dead! Daddy we need to buy Gigi a new fish." Later he told me "Gigi's fish is dead mama, thats so sad." Funny how they pick those things up.
