ONE PROUD MAMA...... and a little story about why the 5 second rule is a bad rule!

Well the potty training has been going really well. My bestie got me on to the gerber training pants (little underpants that absorb a little so small accidents dont require a change of clothes) and  WOW what a difference. He for whatever reason just all of a sudden desided that he can go in the potty. In a week we have had maybe 5 accidents total. 2 of those were at naptime so I am sooooo proud!!!
In fact today he went to MDO in his new underpants and had NO accidents. We headed straight to the potty after wards and he went pee...we get in the car and get all buckled in and he says "mom i need to go poopoo" You would have thought there was a bomb threat called into my suburban. I have never unstrapped 2 kids and ran so fast in my life. He made it .. we celebrated and made it home for ice cream celebration!  I am just SOOO excited!!! What a relief that he actually GO IT!! Hope to give you good reports from here on out....

Now I can fess up the Wal-mart story for those who don't understand why this is a MAJOR life changing event (one day you will.... )We were in walmart a week or so ago when i was recovering from being sick. Nathan said he needed to pee so we go darting to the bathroom in the back of the store. Nathan of course had gone already and I didn't have another diaper b/c had put the last diapers i had in his bag for MDO. So i let him go commando until we got home. So we head to the cart and go to the checkout line. I am literally swiping my card when I look down and see the "potty face"! You know the face they make when they "ARE" going.  I immediately look at the floor ... see no pee.. then realize.. oh....... $hit... literally.. rolls down the pant let and plops itself RIGHT THERE ON THE FLOOR AT WALMART!  Good mother I am had a wipe in my hand in .5 of a second and scoop it up... but much to my amazement one more piece falls out with each 10 or so steps to the door. I was so embarrassed I never turned around to see the faces of the people who were in line behind me... i thought about calling surveillance and seeing if they would release the video to Americas funniest videos, but in my sickened haze .. I wasn't even amused enough to laugh about it..... TILL NOW!

On the mends, back as a family again!

Well when Nathan started throwing up last night, we called for back-ups. Nan and Grand-dad to the rescue. They showed up w/ gatorade and popsickles and took our youngest "well" cowboy out the ranch for some cowboy time. He did great and It gave the rest of us some time to lay around and nap all day. This was really hard on us all. Brian and I had it the worst. We have never both been "out" of it at the same time. It sucked.

On the other hand our little cowboy had a fun filled day of being spoiled by his grandparents. He fed cows, and calves, rode in the tractor and truck all day. They sad he was an angel. Why cant he do this at home? But here are some photos I personally love the one where he is making the face and the calf is drinking its bottle!

HE'S drinking MY milk!!!

Even pooh bear played cowboy!

Looking good in Nans red hat!

Helping grand-dad is tough work

HONK HONK... mooooooove cows!

The rest of us prefer not to have our pic taken for at least 12 more hours! LOL

Sick sick sick...

Well the entire family, minus Nathan has had the stomach bug. Jacob poor guy threw up all night wed night, then early this morning around 4 it hit me. I am just feeling better right now, and now brian is puking. I really hope that Nathan doesn't get it. I am still so weak and shaky. Booo for a crappy valentines weekend.  I just hope no one else gets this. I really felt like I was on deaths doorstep. Looks like Jason's deli soup night to me!

UPDATE: Nathan started throwing up around 8 tonight.. brian finally turned the corner so maybe he can get some rest tonight. Nathan is consistently waking up every 20 mins and throwing up. Should be a long night, but at least we can all sleep in in the morning. Brians parents picked up the early rising little son and took him to the ranch. Hopefully he will do good for them.

Jacob will NOT nominate me for "Mom of the year"

Jacob and Nathan's beloved stuffed animals were looking pretty dingy. Mimi (n's sheep) gets drug all over, and Jacob is chewing on all his animals so i decided to wash them in our new washer and dryer.
BIG mistake!!!! Turns out Jacob was traumatized by seeing his pooh bear and tigger locked in the wash machine. Not to mention to add to the torture there was a window for viewing the poor lifeless animals being tossed around in the suds.

NOTE: i did comfort him ... he screamed and went back to the washer.

Nathan on the other hand said "Mimi and Bear are getting a bath", and walked off.
An hour or so later they came out of the dryer and Jacob didnt put them down for at least an hour...

Little man growing up!

So today at Church Nathan was so well behaved. He even waited in line at the end of the service to shake Pastor Schafer's hand. It just melted my heart to see him act like such a big boy. Then we were walking down to the car and Nathan grabed Jacobs hand and started walking him towards the car. I got it all on film!!! Soooo sweet!!!

Spence boys in the snow!

We took the boys out to see the snow outside. It was not enough to make a snowman, but enough to look pretty outside. The boys loves walking around in the fresh snow. Jacob would have stayed outside all day if i had let him. He never fussed even once.

Nathan on the other hand was outside for 3 mins and wanted to go back inside. He was inside sitting in front of the fire when I came inside. He was getting "warm and toasty"! LOL
Here are some cute pics from today's adventures!
