Dad's Idea of "Safe boy playtime"

This is what happens when dad gets lazy and doesn't want to pull jacob around. He thinks its safe because he hooked up a bungee cord between the two to take the jerk out of pulling the little car. Funny thing is both kids enjoyed it so much they keep asking to hook it up again! Boys!!!!!

Long time no post....

So its been a little while here are some todays funnies:

Me: Follow me AROUND all this water... (i look back..).. JACOB get out of the damn water!!!!!
Nathan: Mom i am in the damn water.
Me: nathan dont say damn.. and get out of the water
Nathan: mom why did you say it then?
Me: i was wrong but i was mad because you were supposed to follow me around it...
Nathan: well than SAY THAT MOM..
me: I DID NATHAN
jacob: damn water mama, damn water mama..
Me: :( shaking my head.

They are little sponges and repeat everything you say.

So we visited my brother in law two weeks ago. They were showing us how ryan has learned to play some games on the computer. We thought we would give Nathan a try on our computer at home. We started him on the pbskids.org site which is fabulous. I showed him how to use the mouse and he slowly learned game by game and now after a week and half he can navigate the ENTIRE website and play games on all the different sites. Its crazy!! He even turns off the screen and speakers and puts the mouse away when he is done. One time he got somewhere and didnt know where he was... I watched him hit the drop down box hit pbskids.org and get back to the main site where he knew where he was. I cant believe how much he has picked up in the little bit of time he has played. I have a feeling he will be teaching me things shortly!

We did the portable north pole site again this year where you customize a video from santa for your kids. You should have seen nathans face watching the video he was AMAZED~! I love the look on his face as santa opens the book with his picture and age, and name. He would talk back when santa asked questions. We were cracking up~ I love who ever invented that site.

They have both been very good this year. Eddie the elf has been a big help. I think we might keep eddie out all year this year and not wait to pull him out at thanksgiving.  Jacob thinks eddie is HIS elf. He keeps wanting to sleep with him! But I take him out of the bed after he falls asleep and re-hide him. The boys love getting up and finding him every morning.

Jacob Tanner turns two!!

As much as I hate to admit it. My baby is growing up. Jacob Tanner turned two on Friday. We celebrated that night at Gatti-land. The kids had a great time but I think Aunt BB had the best time (she is a ski-ball fanatic) By the end of the night we had almost 500 tickets between BB and Clint and Daddy and the boys. So we got them a bunch of little toys at the ticket counter. It was almost 9:30 before we got home and we had the Boehm reunion all day Saturday. It was a LONG weekend.
We had the party this afternoon w/ family and  few friends. I totally botched the cake this morning by melting part of the butter instead of softening it. Sooo I ended up saving the day by calling the great American cookie company(who wasn't even open till noon... but got me a cake ready by 11:15....and yes if i am paying 25 for a cake it better be one I like!) Jacob had a blast. We gave him his big present on Friday night. He got a kitchen. HE LOVES TO COOK. He kissed his kitchen good night Friday night. Then sat he woke up sat right up in bed and yelled "kitchen", got all his stuffed animals brought them out and went straight to his kitchen. He has been cooking up a storm all weekend.

Christmas cards....(sorry used the good photos this time.. i hid them)

So with the Boehm reunion close at hand last week I figured I had better get my Christmas cards done so I save 50 dollars in postage by handing them out at the reunion. Sooooo thurs night we dressed the boys in their new Christmas Pj's, gave Nathan a mo-hawk, and spiked Jacobs hair and took some pics. Here are some of my fav's. Nathan smiled like a champ (keep in mind he has NEVER done that before... and Jacob decided to not cooperate and be a stinker)

Holiday Update....

Well Aunt BB and Uncle Clint are in town for two weeks. We did our "winter cleaning"  and got the house in shape for Thanksgiving.(took advantage of my sister who is pregnant and let her "nest" up my house! )  We had a house full of family and I enjoyed having everyone here so much. We have been cooking our turkey in a roaster for the last few years. Its so great a 20lb turkey is completely done in about 2.5 hours. That beats having it in your oven for 12 hours and taking up space all day. But every year brian still wants to get up and put it on at 7. So once again the turkey was done by 10 am. LOL.. This year I am leaving a note in the roaster to maybe stop the madness for next year. LOL. We had a house full of great food.
Uncle Steve and Aunt Alicia joined us for a few days. It was madness every night before bed. The boys would spend 20 mins jumping from the ottoman onto Steve or Alicia, run down the couch and jump back on the ottoman and start all over again. It was sooooo funny to watch. Jacob is enjoying Aunt BB putting lotion on him 2x a day (that kid LOVES Lotion) Needless to say the boys will be sad when the house is empty again in a week.

Nathan got his stitches taken out by me. The first two cost me 2 M&Ms and the last 5 cost me a cupcake. But we got them all out with out an incidence. He has quite a scar but we are putting mederma on it 3x a day and hoping it wont looks so bad in a few weeks.

We went out to eat tonight at pei wei (asian food). Uncle Clint was eating w/ chop sticks and Nathan decided to try to eat fried rice like Uncle Clint. I'll be damned if he didn't get a huge bite first try w/ chop sticks! It was so funny! That kid will eat anything.

Elf on a shelf is back in the house "watching" the boys. I love this time of year. We got the house decorated (tree and stuff up), but haven't gotten to the outside stuff yet because its freaking cold and we have 30 mile an hour winds over here. So we will get that done sometime this next week. Its nice to be getting into the Christmas spirit....... now what to do for Christmas card pictures??????????????????????

smarty pants reappears... again!

Nathan walked into the kitchen and I was making J breakfast. Nathan tells me " Mama I want some strawberry milk".. as he grabs a spatula off the counter. I was getting J situated and he repeats his request. Finally he comes up grabbes my hand.. says "Listen here.. I asked for straweberry milk, you listen to me and get in here right now" then lightly taps me on the butt with the spatula, AND GRINS.
He got the look from me.. but he got his milk. He is so his mamas boy!

ER and perrier

We were shopping at Kroger getting our weekly groceries. We were almost done going to get our last things on isle 8. Nathan got out of the car cart and I was asking him to get in and set a good example, when suddenly a Perrier bottle fell off the self in between Nathan and I. It hit and was shaking to come to a hault when suddenly it EXPLODED. Seriously exploded. The neck hit me in the face and cut me.. and part hit Nathan right under his chin on his neck. Jacob was ok. I grabbed Nathan and some lady grabbed J and we ran to the car. I wrapped a diaper on N's face and we were in the ER within 3 mins of it all happening. Amy came up to help me w/ a fussy napless jacob tanner. Luckily  the ER gave them Popsicle and that kept us busy and not crying a while. Here we are waiting for stitches. We tried doing it w/o sedation but as it happens we ended up having to put him under to do it right.

Bowling kept him from crying so he bowled on my phone

here is the cut...

here he is coming out of anesthesia
So I promised him yogurt before he went under. The first word (other than dddddddaa... and mmmm) was yo-gret (as he says it). I asked him yesterday about going under.. he said "I got tired and went to bed, then daddy told me to wake up but I was sleeping."
poor guy!

nathan calls them blue whiskers.

Both Gigi's, dinner, and the airport

Last Friday me, Brian and the boys picked up Gigi B in Navasota and headed to Brenham to meet Gigi M.  We played at her house for a while and then we took them to go eat at the 50's diner at the airport. It was a great time.
The boys got to see airplanes land and take off, big jets, and I got to show them where their grandpa used to tie down his plane. I spent a lot of time when I was little at that airport with my dad. Brought back a lot of memories. It was neat to take my boys there.
Cowboys headed to take their gigi's out to dinner!
