Spence boy's got their first offical "Hair cut" by Kim!

In preparation for a family pic this sunday. I opted for some professional help for taming my little men's hair. The last time I cut their hair Jacob growled at me the whole time and Nathan told me he wanted his hair back and cried the entire time. Soooo I thought.. lets let my beloved hairdresser Kim give it a try. She is so cool she pulls out the DVD player ... duh! Why didnt I think of that. Getting a hair cut by mom naked in a bathtub apparently isnt as fun as fully clothed in a chair watching a movie. Who knew?

Here are some action shots. J went first.

Kim getting her cut on!
mama!!!!!

He pulled it together and started watching the movie!

Nathan went second and was still and calm because he adores Kim! And I will have you know she said I had done a good job!

Handsome if I do say so myself!

Post Turtle... had to share.

YOU'VE GOT TO LOVE THIS RANCHER'S OUTLOOK & COMMON SENSE APPROACH TO LIFE...

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher whose hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know,
Obama is a 'Post Turtle''...
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, “What a 'post turtle' was.”

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.'
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder
what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with.'

"NO"... drums.. and new construction!

I am cracking up because Jacob has learned "NO". So now when I ask him simple things like "you ready for your nap" They both say "NO". He knows exactly how to use it now and uses it in the funniest way. He will push his plate away and say "NOOOO" when he doesnt want what I made him. Its neat when they get to the age where they can communicate instead of crying. J is telling me when he needs his diaper changed and even when he wants a drink, or had dirt in his shoes. So now i offically dont have a baby anymore:(
I got to go see my friend Amy's baby Barclay yesterday and Rachels twins today and now I have BABY FEVER!! If only I can talk Barb into having another one (we are best-ies w/ boys the SAME AGE!!!) So if she will just get on her game and man handle her husband i will be on my way for another little one! LOL.... no REALLY!

I made Amy some cupcakes last night. Got the idea from my friend Kay to give the boys their own bowl and spatula like i had while i was making them. (Her twin girls play nicely like they are mixing) MY boys turned over the bowls and made drums and drove me nuts for 15 mins~~~ I guess that's the difference between boys and girls!!

We are having a concrete porch poured this Thursday. The workers have been out preparing the yard for the pour. I am so nervous and excited. I keep telling Brian "its so permanent.. I hope it looks like I want it to." Probably driving him nuts. We are planing on putting a pergola on it later, and the concrete will be stamped in wood planks to look like a wood deck! Should be cool. Here are some construction pics...
