Gardening with Horace.

My sweet sweet neighbor invited the boys over to dig up potatoes! We headed over this morning wagon in tow.
I don't know who looked older, Horace... or Nathan with his "Hi I'm 70, socks!"
They watched Horace do all the work! I was shocked they weren't knee deep in dirt!
Nathan pointing where Horace should dig!  Great shot.. I know!
Finally Jacob jumps in and starts to help! N wiping his hand off on his shirt! LOL
 Jacob gets a better look~!

Nathan finally jumps in and helps pull up the potato plant!
 Nathan collecting the goods!
Wagon full of fresh garden goodies! Now to go clean them up.. the veggies that is!
Jacob gave them all a bath and scrubbed them clean!

We ate some tonight for dinner it was wonderful! I wish I had done my garden again this year! Just too much going on with 3 mobil boys at home!

There.........again!

We are back at that FUN stage in life where you have to look at everything on the floor, shut doors, and baby watch constantly. I was getting the boys ready to go pick veggies at our neighbors house this morning when I heard what I thought was Jacob in the pantry. (He likes to snack a lot lately!) I yelled "J out of the pantry"... then I hear it again.. and as I start to get up to correct him this is what I see.....
CAUGHT! Beer in hand!!!

Oh we are there again. The lovely crawling stage. He is never where I left him, and usually following me bellowing to be picked up! However the moment I act like I am going to pick him up... he starts to giggle and crawl away!

Trenton is 8.5 months old! Two teeth! Eating big boy food and on the move! Where has time gone?

Whale tail!

So tonight while putting the boys to be Nathan tells me "Mom whales tails are this was (holding his hand horizontal) and Sharks tails go this way (holding his hand vertical)."

I said "Nay your right! How did you know that?" He simply says "Cause I am smart and pay attention"

Not bad for a 4 year old!

Earlier this week he asked for some of my drink. I told him "no, its mine" He reply's "Ok if you say so mom" (Jacob on the other hand would cry and yell and ask 400 more times and yell "its not fair") Glad someone is a big boy and is setting a great example!

Nathan starts kindergarten in the fall I could not be more proud and sad at the same time! My baby is growing up!

Some families....

Our a/c broke last week while Brian was out of town. We luckily got a hold of one of his patients who fixes a/c's. I was going to cook pizza for dinner but was not about to turn on the oven in house that was 82 degrees.

We went to wendys to grab a fast burger so we could be close to the house if they called to say they were on the way.

We were eating when a family with 3 girls walks in to eat. Not a minute later another family with all girls walks in to eat too. Nathan looks to the right and says "Mom, some families have all girls" I said "yes". Then he says "and we have all boys!"  I said "yes". Then he says really LOUD.. "MOM GIRLS FREAK YOU OUT... THATS WHAT YOU SAY ALL THE TIME... GIRLS REALLY FREAK YOU OUT!"

One mom spit her drink on the table... I am sure in pure embarrassment for me!

Laughter is the best present!

So I was talking to the boys about people who are different. We had a close friend who had a little girl who was born with no thumbs. They noticed Frank was missing a hand yesterday at the grocery store. Today I told them our neighbor Horace was missing some fingers too.

They wanted to see of course. As usual Horace was outside doing yard work, so we ride our bikes on over to check on Horace's wife and I casually asked Horace to show the boys his hand. We counted 5 fingers on one hand and 3 on the other (he is missing his ring and pinky).

When we got home I asked Nathan what he thought about it. He reply's "He looks like a T-REX...ROARRRRR!"

I laughed so hard I cried! Great Birthday present!
