From time to time I do the the little piggy rhyme w/ the boys toes. I make up funnies from our day and add it in. For example: This little piggy ate chick-fil-a, this little piggy got put in time out, this little piggy tee teed in the grass... you get the point. They think Its sooooo funny and make me do all 10 of their toes.
We were are the Bowers house last week celebrating the end of an awesome softball season when right before we left Jacob steped on a sharp toy that cut his toe pretty bad. He was crying pretty hard, which for Jacob is odd, he is tough boy.
After the tears subsided in the car, Brian asked him how his little piggy was. His reply was "My little piggy is dead." Then he busted out laughing, which made us all laugh. Quite the imagination~

Its NOT NICE!
Brandie and Clint were in town this last week from Hawaii. I was so excited to meet my little nephew JD! He is such a chunk and is soooo stinking sweet (much sweeter of a baby than I had wished on her! LOL)
We were putting the kids to bed one night when they were there. We have had quite an issue lastly of getting them to go down w/o a fight. Brian had to go in and spank Jacob for the 20 time out of his bed. When you hear Jacob yell over the monitor "Its NOT NICE TO SPANK JACOB"
Meanwhile Brandie and Clint are rolling around laughing on our couch. Brian and I can only say...."YOU JUST WAIT, YOU JUST WAIT TILL ITS YOUR TURN AND WE ARE LAUGHING."

But I AM A BIG BOY!
For the first time in over 4 years, everyone in the Spence family home is potty trained! Jacob just decided that he was ready. He asked for underwear and has had only one small tee tee accident in the last almost week. So small it barely needed a change.
He has however had 2 "questionable" potty breaks that need mentioning.
First one was last Sunday when we attended a wedding in New Braunsfels. J wanted to go poo poo on his "little potty". Try as I may to explain to a 2 year old that mommy doesnt travel w/ the little potty, he would not go, but sit on the big potty and complain about wanting a little one. On the way home he yelled at Brian to pull over. As we have many times (because the boy doesn't lie when he needs to go!) Brian gets out with him, pulls his pants down and he says he needs to go poop. Brian held him over the grass and I was astonished he would poop in the grass on the side of the road but no in the big potty which I took him too 4 times at the wedding. KIDS!
So I think it was tues we were getting ready to go to the store when Nathan yells from the garage... "MOM...JACOB IS POOPING IN THE GRASS." There I find my little bear cub, naked from the waist down standing on the concrete and pooping in the grass. I started laughing so hard. I mean it wasn't an accident he didn't go in his pants. But it wasn't quite the goal I was headed for. I do not want to be the mom of the kid that poops in the sandbox on the playground and with school getting close again the thought crossed my mind!
I brought him inside to finish and he threw a fit about his poo poo being together. He went right back outside and finished and topped it off w/ some tee tee in the grass.
As we saw Daddy that evening Jacob proudly announced "I poo pooed and tee teed in the grass.. I AM A BIG BOY~:"
The following morning I woke up to these two monkeys on my bed wrestling over a box of lightening mcqueen big boy wipes. Nathan is yelling "These are MY big boy wipes" and Jacob is yelling "I poo pooed in the grass I AM A BIG BOY"
These are the days of MY life!
So I will eagerly enjoy a 3-4 week period of diaper-less days until Spence boy number 3 arrives and sends us right back into diaper hell~!! LOL

"Momma, how will you get the baby out of your tummy?"
So Nathan is VERY curious, and asks a lot of very in depth questions. Brian loves to explain things in "DOCTOR" terms giving them all the big words and details. Usually N is satisfied with Daddy's answers and then a few random months in the future uses the explanation in the correct manor.
Examples:
- Nathan at 2 was able to tell anyone who asked that helium is what makes balloons float because its lighter than air.
- Our neighbor asked Jacob for the toy DR. scissors, and J replied "These aren't scissors, these are hemostats."
Questions he asked this week:
-Do eggs come out of chickens butts? (I told him they have an egg hole and poop hole...then I laughed for an hour thinking about when he tells someone just how I explained that one!)
-He asked why firefighters were on the side of our road. I had to explain they were construction workers and how they are different.
So about 2 weeks ago N asks me "Momma, how will you get the baby out of your tummy?"
I thought about it, opened my mouth. However nothing came out. Knowing that whatever I said could or would be brought up in kroger, at church, at gigis, or grannys. I thought a little longer and then decided to tell him the TRUTH.
I said "When the baby is ready to come Granny will come stay with you and Daddy will take me to the hospital. Then Doctor Gayle will do some Magic and take the baby out". I know, I know~ your thinking I am a chicken. But it just flashed in front of my eyes of N using works like "birth canal" or something WORSE if I did explain it. I really did not lie. It will be a MAGICAL moment~! LOL
Last night he asked again... lets just hope he doesn't ask his dad~ Yikes!

Love those stinkers!!!
I have been in stitches all day w/ these boys!
Nathans funnies today:
- He spilled a tiny bit of milk this morning (I usually tell him it makes me sad, then clean it up and tell him to pay more attention) I just wiped up the floor and the chair then wiggled it in his face and finished making their breakfast. Nathan looked right at me and says "MOM YOUR THE BOMB!" I about fell over laughing!
-We pulled up at McCallister's for a quick lunch. Taking barbs advice I told the boys "We are going right in.. going potty and THEN ordering our food (never fails someone has to pee and then i have to leave w/ both boys and a purse and a table w/ uneaten food hoping someone doesn't throw it away!! ) N reply's... " Mom just pee in the grass I am hungry and want to order now!" Once again couldn't hold it back!
Jacobs funnies:
- Well I am bad about using the term "SHUT UP" to hearing news I think is crazy! I dont tell people or my kids to "shut up" ever.. but when your toddler repeats it CONSTANTLY.. it sure makes your parenting skills look questionable! So we were driving and they were watching "brother bear" (disney movie) and the younger bear used "shut up" in "MY" way, Jacob yells at him "NO BEAR WE DONT SAY SHUT UP, YOU GO TO TIME OUT!" I was proud!!
-I was opening up his teddy grahams and couldn't get it with my fingers... so i pinched it w/ my teeth to get it started. J tells me "You don't use your teeth mommy, you use your pinchers like this" making little pinching actions w/ his pointer finger and thumbs! LOL you would think being a hygienist I would not have these bad habits but I am outing myself!
- Every time we got in the car all day j says "lets rock and roll"!
FUNNIEST THING ALL DAY!!!
- We went swimming at Aerofit today. Have not been to the pool in a week b/c of all the crazy stuff w/ the wedding and getting the baby room done... So we went after eating at McCallister's. About an hour into swimming, both boys get out of the pool drop their pants and start peeing right out in the open. (yeah they will not pee in a pool! :)) Embarrassingly they were peeing right in front of the tinted windows where everyone working out can see out, but you cant see in. One of the workers came out and said "UM.... even though that was the funniest thing I have seen all day, We have to ask that you use the restroom inside." Sooooo embarrassing!
